UK

A body has been found in the search for missing mother-of-three Gaynor Lord, police say.

The 55-year-old was last seen after she left work early at Jarrolds department store in Norwich city centre at 2.45pm on Friday 8 December.

Norfolk police said: “Police searching for missing Norwich woman Gaynor Lord can confirm a body has been found in the River Wensum.

“The body was found in the river by underwater search teams this morning and has now been recovered from the water.
While the body hasn’t formally been identified, Gaynor’s family have been informed.

“They continue to be supported by specially trained officers.”

The last sighting of her on CCTV then captured her walking up St Augustines Street at 4.01pm.

Underwater divers and sonar equipment were used during a search that had been centred on Wensum Park in the Norfolk city, where police believe Mrs Lord entered the River Wensum.

A member of the public came across Mrs Lord’s belongings inside the park, including her handbag, clothing and jewellery.

Norfolk Police later found her coat in the river itself.
