Police investigating the death of a newborn baby in Ipswich have been given more time to keep three people in custody over the incident.
Police said two men and a female continue to be held for questioning after being arrested on suspicion of murder.
Officers were called at about 12.30pm on Saturday after a baby’s body was found outside a premises on Norwich Road.
Emergency workers attended the scene, but the infant was declared dead.
On Sunday, Suffolk Police was granted an additional 21 hours to question the suspects, giving detectives until Monday evening.
Police say they are treating it as an isolated incident.

On Saturday, Detective Chief Superintendent Jane Topping said: “This is a very sad and distressing incident and, at this time, our investigation into the circumstances surrounding the baby’s death is in its early stages.
“I would urge people not to speculate on social media as to the circumstances of this tragic event.”
