A mobile Santa’s grotto was “pelted with objects” on its journey through a North Wales village – with fears Father Christmas won’t return if it happens again.
Caernarfon Round Table’s mobile Santa’s grotto is visiting different parts of Gwynedd throughout December.
The group said the incident happened on Friday night as the Land Rover and trailer returned from Llanberis towards Caernarfon.
In a statement, the round table said the grotto was targeted by “youths”.
“Luckily no one was on the trailer, but I would not like to think what could have happened if there were people on the trailer including kids, and them getting hit,” the spokesperson said.
The mobile grotto will visit Llanrug on 12 and 14 December but organisers have warned they “will not come round the second time” if it were to happen again.
They said they are “volunteers” who have “spent a lot of money on getting the trailer looking good”.
“We can’t afford for either [the Land Rover or the trailer] to get damaged and more importantly we don’t want anyone to get injured,” the spokesperson added.

The round table spokesperson said the youths were seen “running away”.
Those in the area have been asked by the round table “to behave and not to spoil the occasion for everyone else”.
