Hyundai wants to make driving an electric vehicle as easy as possible. All current and new Hyundai EV drivers will be able to get a free NACS adapter to charge up at over 20,000 Tesla Superchargers. Here’s how to get yours.

Hyundai EV drivers: How to get your free NACS adapter

Starting in the first quarter of 2025, those who buy or lease a new Hyundai EV will be able to request a free NACS charging adaptor, including shipping. It can be done directly through the MyHyundai owner portal.

Hyundai will offer free adapters to owners of model-year 2024 and earlier IONIQ 5, IONIQ 6, Kona Electric, and IONIQ hatchback models. The upgraded 2025 IONIQ 5, IONIQ 6, and Kona Electric models are also eligible for the promotion.

“To accelerate EV adoption, we started by listening to our current owners,” Hyundai Motor North America’s senior vice president of mobile strategy, Olabisi Boyle, said on Monday.

Boyle added that Hyundai’s “goal is to make the transition to electric seamless.” The company said that its luxury Genesis brand will also be included in the program on Monday. More details, instructions, and terms will be announced shortly.

The offer comes as Hyundai’s new EV models, including the refreshed IONIQ 5 and three-row IONIQ 9, come with a native NACS port. Hyundai’s 2025 IONIQ 5 is the first non-Tesla EV on sale with a factory-installed native NACS port.

Starting at $46,550, the Extended Range IONIQ 5 provides up to 318 miles EPA-est range. Hyundai is also offering a rugged new XRT trim, starting at $56,875.
