It’s not just voters who headed to the polls for the general election – plenty of loyal, furry friends have joined their humans for the walk to the ballot box.

As has become a (very welcome) norm in recent years, #dogsatpollingstations has been trending on social media as people shared photos of themselves exercising their pets and democratic rights at the same time.
