Ryan Giggs will face another hearing ahead of a retrial on domestic violence charges.
A hearing was held on Thursday to deal with matters which cannot be reported on ahead of Giggs’ trial.
The 49-year-old former Wales manager was not present for the pre-trial review at Manchester Crown Court.
He was on trial last year accused of assaulting his former partner, Kate Greville, causing actual bodily harm, and using controlling and coercive behaviour against her.
The charges relate to a period between August 2017 and November 2020.
Giggs was also charged with the common assault of Ms Greville’s younger sister, Emma.
He denies the allegations against him.
The jury was sent out to consider its verdict on 23 August last year but one juror was discharged due to illness.
Judge Hilary Manley then said she would accept a majority verdict where at least 10 of the 11 remaining jurors agreed.
An agreement could still not be reached after 22 hours and 59 minutes of deliberation and the jury was subsequently discharged.
It was ruled last September that Giggs would face a retrial, a decision which he said “disappointed” him.

Giggs stood down from his role as manager of the Wales national team last September after a period of leave that began in November 2020.
Interim manager Rob Page succeeded him on a four-year contract.
Giggs won 64 caps for Wales, scored 114 goals for Manchester United during his 24-year stint at the club and co-owns League Two side Salford.
A further hearing has been ordered to take place at Manchester Crown Court on 18 July.
