Driver charged over death of girl, 9, who was hit by London bus

A man has been charged over the death of a nine-year-old girl hit by a bus in southeast London.

Ada Bicakci died in hospital on 5 August last year, two days after the incident in Bexleyheath.

Martin Asolo-Agogua, 23, has now been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and causing death by careless driving when under influence of drink or drugs.

He’s also been charged with driving while over the drug limit, said Metropolitan Police.

Asolo-Agogua – who was arrested on the day of the incident – has been bailed and is due to appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on 24 March.

Ada’s brother, five, was also taken to hospital after the collision on Watling Street. The children were with a family member when it happened.

In a statement after her death, her family said Ada was a keen gymnast and swimmer.

They also said her organs had been donated to help six other children.
