Body found in search for man missing for over a month

UK

A body has been found in the search for a man missing for over a month.

Michael Wheeler, 37, from Yeovil, has not been seen since 24 August.

Avon and Somerset made the discovery at a property in Yarlington, near Wincanton, Somerset, on Wednesday afternoon. Yeovil and Yarlington are around a 30-minute drive apart.

It comes after four men appeared at Yeovil Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday charged with murder.

They were remanded in custody until a further hearing at Bristol Crown Court on Friday.

Mr Wheeler’s family has been informed of the discovery and they are being supported by specially trained officers.

Crime scene investigators will now examine the site, the force said.

Another man arrested last week has been rearrested and remains in police custody.
