Emergency search after person swept off rocks into water

UK

A major search is under way after a person was swept into the water from rocks in Anglesey.

The operation is taking place at Trearddur Bay in North Wales after a ‘serious police incident’ was reported at Ravens Point on Saturday.

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency confirmed the search was continuing as of Sunday morning.

HM Coastguard is co-ordinating the response, with a coastguard helicopter and RNLI lifeboats involved.

Holyhead, Moelfre and Rhosneigr coastguard rescue teams are also helping with the search, as are North Wales Police and Wales Ambulance Service.

Officers have urged members of the public to avoid the area.
