Police have launched an investigation into the “unexplained” death of a man in Glasgow.

Officers were called to a flat in the city’s Glenisla Street shortly after 5pm on Sunday following a report about a seriously injured man.

A 50-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man has been named locally as Stuart Williams.

A post-mortem is due to take place on Tuesday.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.05pm on Sunday 25 June 2023, officers were called to a report of a man seriously injured within a flat in Glenisla Street, Tollcross, Glasgow.

“Emergency services attended and the 50-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

“A post-mortem will be carried out in due course to establish the exact cause of death, which is currently being treated as unexplained.

“Officers remain at the scene and enquiries are ongoing.”
