Body found in search for missing hiker who disappeared in Scotland

A body has been found in the search for a missing man who vanished while hiking in Scotland.

Patrick Alan Monroe, 33, set off from Tyndrum Holiday Park – formerly Pine Trees Caravan Park – in Stirling on the morning of Thursday 6 April.

Mr Monroe reached the summits of Ben Oss and Ben Lui before trekking along the ridge to Beinn a’ Chleibh.

Police Scotland launched a search after a report was made when he failed to return.

The force later confirmed the body of a man had been found in the Tyndrum area at around 11am on Thursday.

A spokesperson said: “The family of missing man Patrick Monroe has been informed.

“There are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
